God loves. God IS love. You have probably heard this many times before. But it is true. God’s love is like no other. There is no “requirement” to receive God’s love. It isn’t like God says “you have to clean up your act in order to receive my love.” or He doesn’t force you to love Him back. Even if you were distancing yourself from God, He would love you still the same. God had sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us even though we still sin. God didn’t do that with a terms and conditions attached to it. He doesn’t need you to love Him back, He doesn’t require that you worship Him, he just WANTS you to. And even if you don’t love Him back, His love will still always be there for you. God is Love, His love is unconditional, it’s not like any human love we experience on earth. It isn’t based on feelings or emotions. His love for us isn’t because we make Him “feel good” He loves us because He is love. He created us so we could have a loving relationship with him, and He sacrificed His own Son so we can have that relationship.
